Should You Buy Lingerie Overseas Online?

by admin on January 8, 2011

The debate is raging in Australia about the unfairness of local Australian companies having to charge GST on purchases under $1,000 online or in the store, while overseas organisations can sell online to Australia without charging GST.

The argument being that it gives an unfair advantage to the overseas suppliers, which on the face of it is the case.

However, if you think about it GST is 10%. Postage from USA is probably a bit more expensive that from within Australia. So, given the same price for the item, you will be saving less than 10%.

If you are saving less than 10% or ever exactly 10%, I would suggest its not worth the effort – just buy locally.

But I think you will find that in many cases the savings are much greater – 20- 30 even 40%, so, in that case, you would be crazy not to look at it.

It is also pointing out that maybe the local suppliers are marking up their products too much, so, in time, the pressure of people buying overseas may well see local prices becoming more competitive.

Is it safe to buy from overseas?

As long as you deal with reputable companies, its very unlikely that you will have an issue. If they offer a PayPal payment option, its probably even safer. If you are in any doubt, just sign up for a FEE FREE Credit Card and get a low credit limit ( Don’t let them talk you into a higher limit). I have had a low limit credit card for years, but have never had an issue buying over the Internet, so, now mostly use my normal credit card.

If you are really cautious – stick to www.amazon.com – you will get good prices and a vast selection of items.

If you are more adventurous, check out some of the banners on this page, we have located a few good value specialist stores for you.

What about Delivery time?

There is normally and expided International delivery option for a reasonable price  and this is probably less than 10 days from USA to Australia ( I have ordered on a Saturday and had delivery on a Tuesday), I don’t know if you have noticed, but most online Lingerie Stores in Australia don’t hold stock, they order from their suppliers and delivery is typically 10-20 days.

How Do I Choose the Right Bustier?

by admin on November 15, 2010

For hundreds of years, women have included the bustier in their wardrobes. A bustier is fundamentally a lingerie item, however , they can easily also be worn with denim jeans or over a dress. The bustier works to lessen flaws and add an attractive shape to a woman’s body. It shapes the waistline by pushing the bust upwards and tightening the upper midriff. There are a few aspects to consider when making a choice on a bustier to be sure you’ll get the result you’re after.

Most important of all, you have to make sure you select the correct bust size. A bustier should have the same cup size which you normally wear. If you select the correct cup size, the rest of the garment should fit your form perfectly.

Because this article will come in immediate contact with your skin, pay attention to the fabric. You should buy the best quality fabric that you can afford. A good quality bustier will be comfortable to the skin, enhance your silhouette, and last for many years. Because there are so many fabric types to pick from you may find a bustier that you are comfortable with. If you have delicate skin, look for materials that allow some air flow so you skin may breathe. If you tend to sweat excessively, stay away from PVC type materials.

There will be several important things to think about when selecting the design of the bustier. You will have to decide if you want straps or not and how much slimming effect you need. If you are thin, you may go with a short version, however if you are trying to reduce your midsection you may want to go with a longer style. The longer styles permit you to tighten the midsection, giving you a slimmer waistline. If you will be wearing the bustier with off the shoulder or strapless dresses, a strapless style is necessary. For years, bustiers were only available without straps, however today there are many styles to select from that have straps.

Bustiers are available with front or back closures. In the past, all bustiers close in the back, however these days there are many styles available which close from the front. Which style you select is simply a matter of personal preference, however a bustier which closes in the front is much simpler to put on, especially if you have no one to help you.

It ought to be noted that while the bustier offers some very tempting visual results, it is not the most comfortable piece of underwear to wear. However, if you follow these guidelines, you will be able to choose a bustier which is comfortable to wear.
